2014 Acura RDX AWD VS 2014 BMW X3 xDrive28i
The 2014 Acura RDX and the 2014 BMW X3 xDrive28i are 5-seat luxury crossovers bearing many similarities. Both offer the stability of all-wheel drive and standard safety features such as traction and stability control. One of the first place you’ll notice a difference is under the hood. The RDX features a beefy yet efficient V6 engine paired with a shiftable automatic transmission. The X3 is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine that is underpowered when compared to the engine in the RDX. Surprisingly, the fuel economy is comparable between the two engines. On the inside, you’ll find each SUV similarly equipped with a few exceptions such as heated and cooled seats, keyless ignition, satellite radio, power glass sunroof and leather interior standard on the RDX as opposed to optional on upper trim levels of the X3. As far as comfort for you and your passengers is concerned, the RDX beats the X3 handily in front hip room, front leg room, front shoulder room, rear hip and leg room and rear shoulder room. While both similar in length, the Acura RDX outdoes the BMW X3 in height, making for a roomier and more comfortable interior overall. The most telling comparison of all, the 2014 Acura RDX has a better power train warranty and costs less than the similarly equipped BMW X3 xDrive28i, making the 2014 Acura RDX AWD an excellent choice for a small, capable luxury crossover vehicle.
